Marks and reviews
Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House reached its golden age in 1948, thanks to Bernard de Nonancourt's dynamism. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house stood out by producing vintages that reflected its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its very beginnings, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse that it brings to the blend, this grape variety has become the signature style of this Champagne reference.
Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut with a "zero dosage" style and also its Cuvée Rosé, the first rose champagne in this category. These original "breakthrough" cuvées, each creation being subject to an event, mark a new page in the history of Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned.
The quintessence of Bernard de Nonancourt’s cherished values are in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognized by connoisseurs.
The Cuvée Grand Siècle is made from a selection of 11 out of the 17 Grands Crus in the Champagne region. The Cuvée Grand Siècle is made from the prestigious growths from the Côte des Blancs with Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant and Oger and from the Montagne de Reims with the Grands Crus of Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, Mailly and Tours-sur-Marne.
Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier is a prestige champagne that is unlike any other and offers a unique concept. It is the only prestige cuvée in Champagne that is based on the blend and not on the vintage. Laurent-Perrier elevates the blending to the next level and believes that it is possible to recreate the perfect oenological year, the one that would bring together the perfect balance between its different organoleptic components. 24 iterations of Grand Siècle have been created since its release in 1959.
Laurent-Perrier’s Grand Siècle Itération n°24 is made from a blend of Chardonnay (55%) completed by Pinot Noir (45%). This blend, comprising 9 Grands Crus, was made from the years 2004 (20%), 2006 (20%) and 2007 (60%) chosen for their complementarity.
Vinification and ageing
Grand Siècle Itération n°24 by Laurent-Perrier is aged for 10 years on lees followed by a year's rest after disgorgement. The dosage for this cuvée is low at 7g/l.
The colour of Grand Siècle Itération n°24 Laurent-Perrier is reminiscent of white gold, intense and brilliant, highlighting the finesse of the effervescence of the string of bubbles.
The bouquet is complex, blending citrus and candied fruit notes. Gradually, notes of brioche and pastries appear, evolving into subtle notes of honey and warm spices.
Following a fresh attack, Grand Siècle Itération n°24 gradually reveals all its power and delicacy, forming a perfect balance. This voluptuous sensation lingers on the finish.
We recommend serving the Cuvée Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Itération n°24 between 10 and 12°C.
Food and wine pairing
The Cuvée Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle Itération n°24 will complement land and sea combinations, sublimating shellfish such as langoustine or noble fish.
