The origins of the Maison De Sousa dates back to the First Wolrd War, when Manuel de Sousa arrived in France with the "poilus" (i.e. the French soldiers during WW1). At the end of the war, he settled in Avize where his son married a winegrower's daughter, thusßgiving birth to the De Sousa Champagne House. When Erick de Sousa took over in 1986, an exceptional growth happenned, making this estate a major andßkey player in Champagne. This Houseßis located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs and takes advantage ofßthe best parcels classifed as Grand Crus to produce among othersßthe Cuvee "Caudalies", which remains the perfect example.
