The estate

Founded in 1968 following the merger of 5 estates, Castellare di Castellina is one of the finest references among Italian wines. Renowned for their quality, the uniqueness of the estate’s wines stems from their exceptional terroir and their label that portrays a bird, which represents the estate's deep respect for surrounding nature.

The vineyard

Located in the heart of the Chianti region, the vineyard spreads across 80 hectares of land near the small village of Castellina. On the heights of a natural amphitheatre, this terroir, planted on clay-limestone soils, produces full-bodied, powerful Tuscan wines that boast a promising ageing potential.

The wine

Produced since 1979, Castellare di Castellina's Chianti Classico is a Tuscan wine made from vineyards planted on limestone soils in the commune of Castellina in Chianti.

Vinification and ageing

Vinification in vats. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged exclusively in French oak barrels for 7 months, followed by a further 7 months of bottle-ageing before being released.
