La Braccesca's vine estate totals 265 hectares. New vines were planted in 1990 to allow the production of fine wines. La Braccesca only selects the best grape varieties for optimum quality. The major part of the vineyard lays on 162-hectare silt and clay soil near Cortona, at 300 meters above sea level, and essentially grows Syrah vines. The remaining 103 hectares located in Montepulciano include 73 hectares in Cervogano, Gracciano, and Santa Pia (280 meters above seas level). The varieties planted on this portion of the domain comprise Sangiovese (in majority), Merlot, and Syrah. The soil is quite rocky and contains red clay.
