The Champagne House Vilmart & Cie was founded in 1890 by Désiré Vilmart. It is in the heart of the Montagne de Reims region that Champagne Vilmart established their 11 hectare vineyard in the 1890s in the small village of Rilly la Montagne, a few miles south of Reims. Since then, the House has been led by passionate family members whose tireless work established the great reputation of this small house. The vineyards are planted with 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. Yields and working practices are strictly controlled. Proven with the age of the vines, some of which contain 35-year-old parcels, some older than 50. But the oldest vines are exclusively used to produce the wine "Coeur de Cuvée".
