Robert Parker

Stephan Reinhardt

Based on synced-fermented 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay from company-owned grand cru vineyards, the salmon-pink colored 2004 Alexandra Grande Cuvée Rosé displays a very subtle and fresh bouquet of great elegance and purity. Intense and complex on the palate, this is a very dry, fresh and tension-filled Rosé full of energy and delicacy. Very elegant and still a bit limey, but a great Champagne.

Alison Napjus

Aromatic notes of smoke and mineral herald this rich rosé Champagne, leading to a finely meshed mix of dried white cherry, toasted almond, spring forest and orange peel, carried on a soft, pearled bead. Fresh, with lightly mouthwatering acidity firming the fruitcake-laced finish. Drink now through 2029. 20 cases imported.

Falstaff

Falstaff

Medium salmon pink with copper reflections, a fine, delicate pearly mousse. Subtle notes of liquorice and cassis, traces of aniseed, iodine and candied grapefruit from long lees ageing, with delicate toasty nuances in the background. Very complex with juicy red fruit, fine structure and amazing freshness, great length with a salty echo. Further maturation potential.

Cherry, morello cherry with a patina of age, a hint of candied pink citrus, a few spices. The palette is quite subtle. The juice is composed, showing a beautiful harmony between volume and finesse. A persistent wine that hasn’t aged a day in years.

Description

The finesse of an exceptional vintage rosé champagne

The producer

Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House reached its golden age in 1948, thanks to Bernard de Nonancourt’s dynamism. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house stood out by producing vintages that reflected its values of excellence and innovation.

Since its very beginnings, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse that it brings to the blend, this grape variety is the hallmark of this Champagne reference.

Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut with a "zero dosage" style and also its Cuvée Rosé, the first rosé champagne in this category. These original "breakthrough" cuvées, each creation being subject to an event, mark a new page in the history of Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned.

The quintessence of Bernard de Nonancourt’s cherished values are in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognised by connoisseurs.

The wine

Elegant, fine and mineral, Alexandra Rosé 2004 is a prestigious vintage champagne. This cuvée was created in 1987 by Bernard de Nonancourt, the founder of the House, for the wedding of his eldest daughter, Alexandra. Alexandra Rosé by Laurent-Perrier is only made in years when the Grands Crus of Champagne (Pinot noir and Chardonnay) reach perfect maturity at the same time. Thus, only 7 vintages have been released since its launch.

The vintage

Despite hail and storms during the spring and summer seasons, the warm and dry month of September led to an abundant grape harvest of perfectly ripen Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.

The blend

During the maceration of the Pinot Noir (80%), 20% Chardonnay is added. Alexandra Rosé 2004 by Laurent-Perrier benefits from a very long ageing period in the cellars.
