Description
The finesse and smoothness of a Barolo wine
The estate
Located in the municipality of Barolo, the origins of the Marchesi di Barolo estate hark back to 1810 under the Marquis Falletti. Owned by the Abbona family for five generations, the quality and elegance of Marchesi di Barolo’s Piedmont wines beams beyond the country’s borders.
The vineyard
Barolo Sarmassa Edition 2015 by Marchesi di Barolo is a Barolo wine made from the eponymous vineyard. Facing south-east on a sloping hillside with stony soils, the Samassa terroir is unique in that its subsoil is made up of clay and silt which, by limiting vegetative development, ensures optimal ripening of the grapes.
The blend
Nebbiolo (100%).
