While notarial deeds already attest to the presence of the Rocca family in the Barbaresco township since the beginning of the 19th century, it was in 1958 that Francesco Rocca purchased a farmstead in Rabaja, one of the most prestigious of the Barbarescocrus. His son, Bruno Rocca, changed the direction of the family business to winegrowing, harvesting his first vintage in 1978. Today it is Bruno's children - Francesco and Luiza Rocca - who manage the vineyard and cellars. The Bruno Rocca estate includes 12.5 hectares in the Barbaresco and Neive municipalities in the Langhe hills, as well as 3 hectares of vineyards in Vaglio Serra, Monferrato. The family winery specialises in the production of beautiful Barbera d'Astiand Barbaresco wines from Nebbiolo, Barberaand Dolcetto. The terroir-driven wines of Bruno Rocca are graced with a feather on their labels, a symbol of the story told by the precious wine inside.
