Description
The supreme elegance of a fine Blanc de Blancs
The 2008 Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs is an exceptional vintage that brings together the finest Champagne terroirs to reveal the dazzling purity of this Chardonnay
As one of Delamotte’s emblematic grapes, the 2008 vintage will remain a landmark year for Chardonnay. The 2008 Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs brings together the best terroirs of the legendary Côte des Blancs and displays a blend of rare complexity. The blend consists of 20% wine from Mesnil-Sur-Oger, 20% from Avize, 20% from Oger, as well as wines from the greatest terroirs of Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry.
After taking the time to age on lees for nine years in Maison Delamotte’s cool, dark cellars, this exceptional Champagne manages to reveal the particular expression of each of its terroirs used in the blend.
The intensely expressive 2008 Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs evolves gracefully with smoky mineral notes reflective of the champagne’s chalky soils. On the palate, the wine reaches its peaks of elegance. It offers a perfectly balanced and generous mouthfeel. The Chouilly terroir gives it a distinctive structure while the wine from Mesnil-sur-Oger exhudes biting acidity coated with the roundness of the fruit. This fresh and pure wine continues to evolve until the very end leaving a chalky, mineral finish. A masterfully crafted Blanc de Blancs champagne.
