Description
An aromatic and complex Barolo wine
The estate
The history of the Elio Altare winery dates back to 1948, when Joseph Altare acquired 5 hectares of vineyards in La Morra, with the ambition of producing fine Piedmont wines.
Following a trip to Burgundy in 1976, Elio Altare, Joseph's grandson, gradually modernised the estate's practices, regarding both the winemaking practices and the ageing process. A major player in the reputation of the estate beyond its borders, Elio Altare produces wines that harmoniously blend elegance, finesse and balance.
The vineyard
Elio Altare's 2018 Arborina is a Barolo wine that stems from vineyards located in the historic La Morra area. The vines are between 50 and 70 years old and are planted on sandy soils with a southern exposure.
Vinification and ageing
