Description
A mineral and expressive Loire dry white wine
The estate
The passionate winemaker Ivan Massonnat took over the Pithon-Paillé estate, created by Jo Pithon, in 2018. Located in the Anjou region, Domaine Belargus oversees a 24-hectare vineyard that is managed exclusively using biodynamic methods. Made from carefully selected Grand Crus, lieux-dits or single holdings, these Loire wines throw into the spotlight the richness and minerality of Chenin Blanc.
The vineyard
Ronceray du Domaine Belargus is an Anjou wine made from a blend of plots, totalling 4.44 hectares, located on the Quarts-de-Chaume hillside. The name of this wine refers to the Abbey of the same name. The lords of Haute Guerche, tenants of the land, paid the nuns "the best quarters of the harvest," hence the name "Quarts-de-Chaume".
Blend
Ronceray 2020 from Domaine Belargus is 100% Chenin Blanc.
