Located in Montlouis-sur-Loire, at the heart of Touraine, the François Chidaine estate has become a reference amongst Loire wines over the course of each vintage.
A trailblazer, François Chidaine planted some hectares of vines in 1989, creating the eponymous estate with the ambition of magnifying this terroir through operating the vineyard through organic farming since 1992, then biodynamically since 1999.
The estate gradually grew until it reached a surface area of 37 hectares (including 20 in the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, 10 in Vouvray and 7 in Touraine), planted on a mosaic of soils that are sometimes clayey with flint, sometimes calcareous clay, which contribute to the style of their wines by perfectly expressing the particularities of each of their original terroirs.
The grape varieties are mostly made up of Chenin Blanc wines.
Renowned for their quality, the wines from the François Chidaine estate reflect the philosophy of the estate which, in a perpetual quest for excellence, advocates for Biodynamism as a way to add value to the soils and vines in a natural environment that is respected by winegrowers.
