Henri Bourgeois was created in 1950 by Henri Bourgeois, the grandfather of the generation currently chairing the company. At the time, Henri Bourgeois only cultivated a few hectares of vines at the heart of the vintage of Chavignol, in the region of Sancerre. He made the bold decision to switch from growing multiple crops to only planting vines, the winemaker's success made him a pioneer in the region. The family carefully cultivates Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc in the appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Remi and Jean-Marie (Henri Bourgeois' sons) along with Jean-Christophe, Lionel, and Arnaud (his grandsons) are extremely careful and select only the very best of 120 parcels on 72 hectares.
