Description
A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé Combining Elegance and Character
The Estate
Witness to a rich and prestigious past, the Château Corbin has embodied since its foundation the profound bond between the vine and those who cultivate it. Although the current building dates from the 18th century, legend has it that the estate’s lands once belonged to the Black Prince, the famous foe of the French at the outset of the Hundred Years’ War. Since 1924, the estate has remained in the hands of the same family, perpetuating a passion passed down from generation to generation. Today, Anabelle Cruse, accompanied by her husband Sébastien Bardinet, tends with dedication and exacting standards to the destiny of this property, which she continues to make shine with elegance and authenticity.
The Vineyard
Located in the commune of Saint-Émilion, in the immediate vicinity of the Pomerol appellation, the vineyard of Château Corbin covers 13 hectares. The vines, averaging 33 years of age, benefit from an exceptional terroir composed of blue clays, clayey and clay-sandy soils resting on a subsoil of ferruginous clay. This geological diversity gives the wines their unique character and remarkable balance.
Vinification and Aging
Parcelled vinification in small concrete vats. Extraction is carried out by manual pump-overs. Maceration lasts from 21 to 31 days depending on the lots. Aging takes place in barrels, concrete vats and glass globes.
Blend
The Château Corbin 2024 is made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
