An exceptional champagne born of the art of blending in Champagne
The estate
Founded in 1812, the House of Champagne Laurent-Perrier entered its golden age from 1948 onward, thanks to the dynamism of Bernard de Nonancourt. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house distinguished itself by crafting cuvées that reflect its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its beginnings, the house has built its identity around chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse it brings to the blend, this grape variety defines the style of this Champagne benchmark.
Maison Laurent-Perrier expresses its avant-garde spirit through, in particular, Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut in a “zero dosage” style, and Cuvée Rosé, the first maceration rosé champagne in this category. These so-called “groundbreaking” cuvées, each creation an event, have, through their originality, written a new page in the history of Maison Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence that has earned it international renown.
The values dear to Bernard de Nonancourt find their purest expression in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously acclaimed by connoisseurs.
The vineyard
Grand Siècle Itération N°27 draws its exceptional character from eight Grand Crus of Champagne carefully selected. The chardonnays come from the prestigious terroirs of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant, while the pinot noirs are sourced from Tours-sur-Marne, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzy. This rigorous selection among the finest Champagne terroirs guarantees the excellence of this exceptional wine.
This iteration is built on the art of blending three complementary vintages. The 2015 vintage, which represents 65% of the blend, experienced extreme weather, with a mild winter followed by a hot, stormy summer, producing chardonnays with yellow-fruit aromas and opulent pinot noirs. The 2013 vintage, at 25%, marked by a cold spring and late harvests, brings fresh, well-balanced chardonnays as well as delicate pinot noirs. Finally, the 2012 vintage, representing 10% of the blend, went through episodes of frost and spring rains before a fine summer, offering elegant chardonnays and pinot noirs with red-fruit aromas. This champagne has a dosage of 8 g/L, giving it a perfect balance between richness and freshness.
Winemaking and aging
Grand Siècle Itération N°27 benefits from extended aging of ten years on the lees in 75 cl bottles, allowing the champagne to develop its exceptional aromatic complexity and depth. This patient maturation reveals the full richness of the blend and gives the wine its unique character.
