Description
Aromatic richness and freshness, a fine Bandol red wine by La Bastide Blanche
The estate
The family estate of La Bastide Blanche is poised in an idyllic setting on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in Sainte-Anne-de-Castellet. Since 1972, this estate has been producing fine wines in the Bandol appellation.
Dedicated to nature and protecting it, La Bastide Blanche produces organic wines. The vineyard covers an area of 50 hectares, where the typical soils of the appellation (red clay, clay-limestone and gravelly soils) contribute to the signature style of these wines, which are recognised for their high quality and their great ageing potential.
The vineyard
The 2018 Bandol red wine by Domaine de La Bastide Blanche stems from a 20-hectare vineyard whose vines are 30 years old on average.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand and 100% destemmed. The 22-day vatting period is carried out with multiple punchings of the cap to extract colour, tannins and aromatic richness. No yeast is added during the vinification.
The blend
Mourvèdre (73%)
Grenache (20%)
Cinsault (4%)
Syrah (2%)
Carignan (1%).
