Description
An aromatic, delicate great white Bandol wine by La Bastide Blanche
The estate
On the shores of the Mediterranean in Sainte-Anne-de-Castellet, in an idyllic setting, lies the family estate of La Bastide Blanche. Since 1972, this estate has been producing great wines under the Bandol appellation.
Committed to nature and its protection, the La Bastide Blanche estate produces organic wines. The vineyard covers 50 hectares, and its soils typical of the appellation (red clay, clay-limestone soils, gravelly soils) contribute to the signature of these wines, renowned for their outstanding quality and significant aging potential.
The vineyard
The Bandol blanc 2018 from the La Bastide Blanche estate comes from a 3.5-hectare vineyard with vines averaging 45 years old.
Vinification and aging
The grapes are harvested by hand. Pneumatic pressing is followed by 6 days of skin maceration. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled vats, followed by a blocked malolactic fermentation to maintain balance on the palate by preserving a certain level of acidity.
Blend
Clairette (55%)
Ugni blanc (20%)
Bourboulenc (15%)
Rolle (8%)
Sauvignon (2%).
