The estate
A family-run domaine for five generations, J.L. Vergnon champions in its cuvées a delightful blend of tradition, passion for terroir, and the authentic expression of one of Champagne’s flagship grape varieties, Chardonnay.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Champagne J.L. Vergnon is comprised of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs as well as Premiers Crus from the villages of Vertus and Villeneuve. The estate manages around twenty plots, farmed sustainably and certified HVE 3.
The wine
The Éloquence Blanc de Blancs Grand cru Extra Brut cuvée by J.L. Vergnon is made from parcels located in the villages of Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, and Avize.
Winemaking and aging
This champagne is crafted from 20% reserve wine aged for 3 months in oak barrels and 80% wine from the year vinified in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged in the estate’s cellars for 3 years before disgorgement. The dosage for this Extra Brut cuvée is 3 g/liter.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.

Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a beautiful golden hue with green highlights. The bubbles are fine and elegant.

Expressive, the initial nose combines aromas of grapefruit, almond, biscuit, and pear. With aeration, the bouquet becomes more complex, revealing mineral, peppery, and even spicy notes.
Palate
Lively and taut, the palate stands out for its precision and aromatic purity. The persistent finish delights with chalky, mineral, and even saline notes, characteristic of this unique terroir.
