A family-owned estate for five generations, J.L. Vergnon advocates a delicious alchemy between tradition, passion for the terroir and the authentic expression of a flagship grape variety of Champagne, Chardonnay.
The vineyards of the J.L. Vergnon Champagne House are composed of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Premiers Crus from the villages of Vertus and Villeneuve. The house watches over a vineyard of around twenty plots, managed in a sustainable manner and bearing the HVE 3 label.
Vinification and ageing
This champagne is made from a blend of reserve wine, aged for 3 months in oak barrels, wine from the vintage aged in stainless steel tanks and 10% red wine from the Mailly Grand Cru terroir. The wine is aged in the estate's cellars for 3 years before disgorging. The dosage for this cuvée is 3 g/litre.
J.L.Vergnon's Rosémotion Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut comprises a blend of Chardonnay (90%) from Mesnil sur Oger, Oger and Avize and Pinot Noir (10%) from Mailly Grand Cru.
This champagne showcases a subtle rose petal shade with orange reflections. The effervescence boasts a great finesse.
Precise and with a beautiful minerality, the first nose reveals fragrances of redcurrants and pomelos. When aerated, aromas of strawberries and saffron emerge, along with pastry notes due to the ageing period.
The palate is seduced by this wine’s freshness, its sapidity and its delicate texture. Persistent and acidic, the finish harmoniously blends mineral and chalky notes.
For an optimal tasting, serve between 9 and 10°C.
J.L.Vergnon's Rosémotion Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut can be kept in the cellar for around 5 years in order to develop its full aromatic complexity.
