Description
A fresh and balanced Blanc de Blancs Champagne
The estate
Family-owned, the Champagne House Franck Bonville traces its origins back to 1900 with Alfred Bonville who, as a visionary, acquired parcels only a few years after phylloxera had ravaged the Champagne vineyards.
The House experienced significant growth after 1945 thanks to Franck Bonville, who expanded the size of the vineyard and began marketing the first cuvées under his own name. Representing the third generation, Gilles Bonville and his wife gradually modernized the winemaking facilities starting in 1970. After joining his parents in 1996, Olivier Bonville has paid particular attention to managing the vineyard with respect for the environment.
The vineyard
The Unisson Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru cuvée from Franck Bonville is produced from grapes grown in the vineyards of Avize, an iconic terroir of Champagne. The name of this cuvée refers to its blend of two harvest years (2016 and 2017). The dosage of this Brut Champagne is 6.7 g/L.
Vinification and aging
This Blanc de Blancs Champagne undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.
Grape variety
Chardonnay (100%).
