Description
A Scotch whisky that entices with its aromatic richness and refinement
The estate
Glenmorangie, a leading Scotch whisky producer, traces its origins back to 1943, when William Matheson and his wife Anne founded the distillery with the view to produce exceptional spirits. Driven by a constant quest for excellence, Glenmorangie is unique in its use of high quality barley, its expertise in wood and its work in extra maturation, the signature of the estate's unique know-how.
The whisky
Glenmorangie's Extremely Rare 18 Year is recognised as a benchmark among Scotland's great Single Malt Scotch Whiskies for its rich flavour and quality.
Whisky making and ageing
After fifteen years of maturation in American white oak bourbon casks, approximately 30% of the whisky was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks for a further three years of ageing. This Scotch spirit is blended only when both whiskies have reached the age of 18 years.
