The elegance and freshness of a red wine from the Tuscan Maremma by Serpaia
The estate
Founded in 1999 by Paolo and Christine Endrici together with Thomas Kemmler, Serpaia is the Tuscan branch of the historic Endrizzi group. Located in the province of Grosseto, in the heart of the Maremma in Tuscany, this estate embodies a harmonious encounter between local tradition and Nordic expertise. Today, the property is run by the new generation, represented by Lisa Maria, Daniele and Torben Endrici, who perpetuate the original vision while bringing a contemporary energy to it. The estate stands out for its eco-responsible approach and its unique maritime terroir.
The vineyard
The terroir from which this Morellino di Scansano originates extends over the gentle hills of the Maremma, near Magliano, sloping down towards the Mediterranean Sea. The vines benefit from refreshing sea breezes and mineral-rich soils, composed of sand, clay and limestone. Cultivated under certified organic farming since 2023, the vineyard is trained using the Guyot method with yields controlled at 30 hectolitres per hectare. The harvest is carried out by hand during the cool hours of the night and early morning in order to preserve the quality of the berries.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Morellino di Scansano 2024 follows a philosophy of precision and freshness. After vinification, the wine undergoes meticulous refinement in stainless steel tanks, followed by several months of bottle ageing before its release.
Grape variety
This Italian wine is exclusively crafted from Sangiovese (100%).
