Description
A lively and fruity Côtes de Provence rosé wine from Minuty
The estate
Built during the reign of Napoléon III, Château Minuty was acquired in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet, who set out to bring it back to its erstwhile splendour. And so in 1955 the estate entered the exclusive circle of 23 Classified Growths among Côtes de Provence wines. Then, the property crossed the path of Monique and Etienne Matton who, thanks to their dedicated work, greatly contributed to establishing the reputation of Château Minuty among high society on the Riviera. Today, the brothers Jean-Etienne and François Matton have taken over the reins in a worthy manner, while infusing the estate with a modern spirit.
The vineyard
Château Minuty's 160 hectares of vineyards cover the Saint-Tropez peninsula. On the slopes of Gassin and Ramatuelle, the vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate. The sea breezes coming from the coast allow the preservation keep the grapes in good health throughout the year. The soils are varied between schist and limestone, which allows the different grape varieties to be grown where they flourish best. This Côtes de Provence wine comes from vines cultivated using sustainable viticulture methods and cared for in a preserved environment with a rich ecosystem. To ensure optimal and consistent quality, a massal selection is made from a collection of Grenache vines that are on average 30 years old.
The wine
The latest edition of the iconic Minuty M bottle is revisited through the sensory prism of the artist Hannah KL. Her creations, mixing poetry and creativity, honour the aromas of this wine through the vivacity of the colours and a bright assortment of plant and fruit shapes.
Winemaking and ageing
Following the harvests done by hand, the grapes were destemmed before being crushed, chilled and made inert. A meticulous selection of the first juices was carried out in order to keep only those of high quality. Alcoholic fermentation at 14°C.
