The estate

Established since 1859, Maison Louis Jadot is a true benchmark in Burgundy. Its adventure began with the acquisition of a plot of land in 1826. Its trading activity led to its swift international recognition. Today and since 1992, the house is managed by Pierre-Henry Gagey and still ensures that Burgundy wines remain accessible to those who love high-quality wines.

At the head of Maison Louis Jadot since 1992, Pierre-Henry Gagey entrusted his position to Thomas Seiter (Bouchard Père et Fils) and role of General Manager to his son Thibault Gagey in September 2022.

The vineyard

This 1er cru "Les Charmes" Domaine Louis Jadot 2021 by Louis Jadot is a Meursault wine made from an east-facing vineyard that rests on brown limestone soil.

The vintage

2021 was a year marked by a severe frost at the beginning of April and unstable weather conditions throughout the year. Despite a below-average harvest, the quality is reflected through the floral and balanced white wines as well as the vibrant, full and aromatic red wines.

Vinification and ageing

The hand-picked grapes are gently pressed before fermentation in oak barrels from the estate's cooperage (1/3 of which are new). Aged for about 15 months on fine lees.
