Description
The finesse and precision of a Chablis Premier Cru
The estate
It was indeed meeting his wife-to-be and future family-in-law, winegrowers in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, that introduced Jean-Marc Brocard, an engineer at the time, to viticulture and wine production. Jean-Marc Brocard planted his first vines in Préhy, in the heart of the Chablis vineyards in 1973.
His son, Julien, joined the estate in 1995 and swiftly developed a passion for biodynamic practices, which he gradually applied to the estate's plots. Rightfully regarded as an expert on his terroir in Chablis, Jean-Marc Brocard is convinced that the utmost respect for the land must remain the foundation of his work and ethos. Thus, he has always endeavoured to apply ecological principles, to restrict human intervention and to reveal all the authenticity of the Chablis climats. These practices result in structured, pure and mineral wines. Truly in tune with the times, Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard is one of the most important and influential producers of organic wines in Burgundy today.
