Description

A charming, voluptuous and powerful Saint-Émilion

20 years after the founding of the Grand Cru Classé of Saint-ÉmilionChâteau Péby-Faugères – the 2018 truly embodies a vintage that brings together all the characteristics of an exceptional year.

2018 will be remembered as a year of challenges, which began with turbulent conditions due to strong climatic contrasts. After the intense rainfall of the first six months of the year, a strong mildew pressure threatened the vineyard. Due to the conversion of Château Péby-Faugères to organic viticulture, a process which began in 2017, the property's technical teams had to use all their energy and know-how to enable the vine to give the best of itself. A constant vigilance in the vineyard and close attention paid to each plot ensured a dazzling 2018 vintage for Château Péby-Faugères.

Made from 100% Merlot, the Château Péby-Faugères 2018 offers a pure expression of the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion. The vintage is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (100% new). Unanimously acclaimed by international critics, the Château Péby-Faugères 2018 offers a magnificent definition of fruit, with great opulence and concentration. Savoury and voluptuous, the palate presents juicy fruit, structured by ripe and perfectly integrated tannins. The minerality of the Saint-Emilion limestone terroirs appears with great nobility and intensity, while the development of the palate stretches forth into a persistent finish. A beautiful reference from Saint-Émilion in an exceptional vintage for Bordeaux.
