Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House reached its golden age in 1948, thanks to Bernard de Nonancourt's dynamism. Under the leadership of this visionary businessman, the house stood out by producing vintages that reflected its values of excellence and innovation.
Since its very beginnings, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. Through the freshness and finesse that it brings to the blend, this grape variety has become the signature style of this Champagne reference.
Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in Grand Siècle and its multi-vintage blends, its Ultra Brut with a "zero dosage" style and also its Cuvée Rosé, the first rose champagne in this category. These original "breakthrough" cuvées, each creation being subject to an event, mark a new page in the history of Laurent-Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned.
The quintessence of Bernard de Nonancourt’s cherished values are in the Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognized by connoisseurs.
Grand Siècle by Laurent-Perrier is a prestige champagne that is unlike any other and offers a unique concept. It is the only prestige cuvée in Champagne that is based on the blend and not on the vintage. Laurent-Perrier elevates the blending to the next level and believes that it is possible to recreate the perfect oenological year, the one that would bring together the perfect balance between its different organoleptic components.
Grand Siècle follows the following three rules:
- Blend of a selection of 3 exceptional years, made up of a majority year (the youngest) and 2 complementary years chosen among the rare vintages produced by Laurent-Perrier.
- Blend of a selection of 11 Grands Crus out of the only 17 existing in Champagne, all vineyards that showcase the unique characteristics of Laurent-Perrier’s style.
- A Chardonnay-dominant blend, supplemented by Pinot Noir and aged in cellars for over 10 years.
The result of these three rules is a champagne that boasts a perfect balance between density, aromatic depth and complexity. It offers an exceptional ageing potential.
For an optimal tasting experience, serve between 10 and 12°C.
