The estate

Since its creation in 1818 by the married couple, Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas-François Billecart, the Billecart-Salmon Champagne House has remained independent, having preserved all of its know-how and demand for high-quality cuvées for 7 generations.

The vineyard

The Billecart-Salmon vineyard covers 100 hectares from the Côte des Blancs to the Reims mountain. The vines are cultivated and cared for in a traditional manner so that the wine resembles real fruit and to reflect the quality of its terroir.

The wine

A prestigious limited edition, Billecart-Salmon’s Cuvée 200 celebrates 200 years of a prestigious Champagne house which has crossed multiple time periods while preserving its familial independence and an artisanal know-how. Derived from 8 prestigious Grand Crus from the Reims Mountain and Côte des Blancs, Billecart-Salmon’s Cuvée 200 offers the expression of a unique champagne which immortalises the expression of 4 exceptional harvests (2000, 2003, 2008, 2012).

Blend

Billecart-Salmon’s Cuvée 200 is the product of a blend of Pinot Noir (92%), Chardonnay (4%) and Pinot Meunier (4%).

Tasting

Colour

Sparkling, the wine is a delicate light gold colour with yellow highlights. The bubbles are fine and perfectly structured.

Nose

The aromatic bouquet reveals all of the grandeur of great terroirs and displays a refined complexity that is gradually discovered, giving the wine time to reveal the depth of its personality. With delicate floral fragrances, fresh apple scents which bring to mind the sweetness of an orchard in summer and indulgent notes of dried, toasted fruits, the nose is intoxicated by the aromatic power of this brilliant wine with dazzling scents of citrus.

Palate

Billecart-Salmon’s Cuvée 200 swirls on the palate with a generous intensity and palatability. The wine develops on the palate without losing any of its intensity and reveals the complexity of this exceptional champagne, stretching out into a delicious finish with a shimmering saline minerality.
