Description
A Chablis Village wine with a seductive complexity and freshness
The estate
A fine expression of the Chablis terroir since 1815, Domaine Billaud-Simon is one of those fine estates that gives Burgundy its noble reputation. Domaine Billaud-Simon is committed to expressing the quintessence of the Chablis terroir, by giving a unique personality to the Chardonnay varietal, thanks to the Kimmeridgian limestone. Powerful and racy, the Chablis wines by Billaud-Simon are bearers of a singular identity that blends freshness and purity.
The vineyard
Planted on the left and right banks of the Serein river, in the heart of the Chablis appellation, the estate covers 17 hectares of prestigious plots, including four Grands Crus (Les Clos, Vaudésir, Les Preuses and Les Blanchots) and four Premiers Crus (Montée de Tonnerre, Fourchaume, Mont de Milieu and Les Vaillons). Domaine Billaud-Simon maintains and cultivates an exceptional vineyard, planted mainly with 50-year-old vines that reveal the richness and authenticity of their terroir.
The wine
The emblematic name of the estate, Tête d'Or is a Chablis wine that stems from a selection of the best parcels located near the Premiers Crus and Grands Crus.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
