Château Grand Corbin-Despagne

Stakeholders in the wine world since the 16th century, their ancestors having worked in various traditional winegrowing trades, the Despagne family has always maintained a close relationship imbued with humility with the land in Saint-Emilion. Since 1996, it has been François Despagne who has had the exhilarating task of working the terroir of Grand Corbin Despagne and its 20 hectares bordering on Pomerol. It is often said - and quite rightly so - that Grand Corbin Despagne is the most Pomerol Saint-Emilion and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé wine. The wines produced by the team working on this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé leave no doubt about their origins with their freshness, complexity and amiability with, nonetheless, a certain intensity, not to mention their exuding the delicious scents of black truffles peculiar to the clay soil and iron dirt the estate shares with its close neighbour Pomerol. Although Grand Corbin Despagne is the bearer of a high viticultural tradition of the Right Bank, it nevertheless does not neglect producing designer wines with new blood and dynamic, contemporary and even modern and exhilarating expression.
