The estate
Located in the heart of Rutherford, the Quintessa winery was founded in 1990 by Agustin and Valeria Huneeus, a Chilean couple who were eager to produce fine Californian wines. Quintessa reigns over a 113-hectare vineyard that is farmed using organic and biodynamic practices. This exceptional terroir draws its uniqueness from its mosaic of soils, exposures and microclimates.

Quintessa's Rutherford 2019 is a Napa Valley wine that expresses the sophisticated and rich nuances of the fine Californian vineyards.
The vintage
A mild winter preceded a particularly cool spring. Although these conditions slowed down the start of flowering, they also favoured a good fruit set. The mild summer ensured a homogeneous ripening until the harvest.
