Description
A structured and aromatic white wine from Patagonia
The estate
The son of the famous Argentinian oenologist, Jorge Riccitelli, Matias Riccitelli founded the eponymous estate in 2009. Located in the province of Mendoza, this estate watches over a 20-hectare vineyard that spreads over three unique terroirs in the foothill of the Andes Mountains.
Matias Riccitelli passionately produces Argentinian wines whose refinement and aromatic richness beam beyond the country’s borders.
The vineyard
Matias Riccitelli's wines are a benchmark among fine Patagonian wines. They are made from grapes harvested in the province of Rio Negro. The vines are over fifty years old on average and are planted at an altitude of between 435 and 500 metres on a limestone soil. The soil is composed mainly of alluvium and silt.
Vinification and ageing
Harvested by hand in 20 kg crates, the grapes are rigorously sorted before vinification. Skin maceration for 50% of the grapes, the rest are lightly pressed. Fermentation in clay amphorae with indigenous yeasts, as well as an 8-month ageing period.
The blend
Torrontes (100%).
