Description
The aromatic intensity and elegance of a Morgon wine
The estate
At Domaine Marcel Lapierre, wine is above all a family affair. With a history dating back to 1909, this family estate in the Beaujolais region stands out for its pioneering approach to vineyards and viticulture.
Today, this heritage of several decades is based on four fundamental pillars: the people, the soil, the climate and the grape variety. Proud of their heritage, Marcel Lapierre's children, Mathieu and Camille, are brilliantly carrying forward this ancestral philosophy. They have created extremely precise organic wines that exude all the aromatic nuances of Gamay.
The vineyard
This Morgon wine from the Marcel Lapierre estate comes from a 15 hectare vineyard. The vines, which are about 70 years old, are planted on poor soils composed mainly of granite.
Winemaking and ageing
Harvested by hand, the grapes are rigorously sorted and then placed in vats to begin a semi-carbonic maceration for 10 to 21 days (without SO2 or yeast). The wine is aged in old 216 litre barrels for 9 months. The wine is bottled in two different ways: one without filtration but with the addition of sulphites and another without filtration and without the addition of sulphites.

Gamay (100%)
