Description
A Fruity and Dense Grand Cru from Saint-Émilion
Nicknamed "The Phoenix," the 2018 vintage marks an exceptional year in the history of Château Angélus, an emblematic Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Émilion, located on the Right Bank of Bordeaux.
The vegetative cycle of the vine was quite distressed in the beginning, a source of great concern for the vine growers, until mid-July. The climatic conditions that followed and continued until the date of the harvest allowed the grapes to ripen fully, while maintaining a nice acidity and developing velvety tannins.
2018 was also the first vintage in the organic conversion cycle that the property is currently undergoing.
The Carillon d’Angélus 2018 of Château Angélus is made from a blend of Merlot (65%) and Cabernet Franc (35%).
Through its unique identity, the Carillon d'Angélus 2018 expresses all of the characteristics typical of its exceptional terroir of origin. First, this wine reveals a deep colour. The bouquet seduces the nose with its intense aromatic expression, resplendent with bright, fresh fruit and developing notes of wild berries and cherries. The palate already displays a superb texture and density, structured by palate-coating tannins, stretching into a very persistent finish.
