Description

A fresh and well-balanced Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Produced from an area of 6.96 hectares, Chateau Sansonnet is a red wine from the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation. The average vine planted is 35 years old, on a terroir of clay and limestone based soils. The grape varieties planted are Merlot (85%), Cabernet Franc (8%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%). The wine is aged in French oak barrels (80% are new), for 12-18 months. The final blend of the 2016 vintage is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Sansonnet 2016 presents tannins of exceptional quality thanks to perfect ripening conditions. The clay-limestone soil, preserves the freshness and moisture, ensuring a perfect maturity free of any factors that could prohibit maturity. A powerful, elegant, fresh and well balanced wine.
