2012 Saint-Estephe Deuxieme Cru Classe
Despite the contrasted conditions in 2012, Chateau Montrose included another superior release in their illustrious collection of the past decade.
The 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot display a vibrant, deep purple colour. The first nose is quite closed. Elegant red fruits, black currant bud, and eucalyptus notes are revealed with the swirl. The palate is fresh and forward. The mid-palate is full, strong, and silky. The finish is incredibly long, with hints of anise and brioche. This Saint-Estephe 2e Cru Classe is intense yet distinguished.
