Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for the Brut Carte Jaune Champagne Cooler by Yinka Ilori from Veuve Clicquot
Tasting
Appearance
This champagne reveals a bright golden yellow color, enlivened by a fine and persistent effervescence.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of white and yellow fruits such as pear, apple, and peach, highlighted by touches of citrus reminiscent of grapefruit and mandarin. With aeration, indulgent aromas of brioche, dried fruits, and nuts emerge.
Palate
The attack offers a fine balance and a rich texture. Fruity flavors of peach and pear blend with pastry notes of viennoiserie and brioche. The whole is supported by a chalky freshness and a beautiful mineral backbone.
An original and colorful bottle holder by Veuve Clicquot
The estate
Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot is a historic institution of Champagne. Its meteoric rise in the 19th century is due to the major innovations of Madame Clicquot, such as the invention of the riddling table and the creation of the first known vintage. Today, the estate relies on a vast vineyard of 393 hectares. Part of the LVMH group, the House is currently led by Thomas Mulliez. It stands out for its immense underground cellars, the Crayères, and for the consistent quality of its wines, which shine across the world.
The vineyard
The estate extends over 393 hectares across the finest terroirs of Champagne. This exceptional vineyard is rated on average at 71% on the cru scale, with an impressive 55% of plots classified as Grand Cru and 40% as Premier Cru. The vines thrive on chalky soils across twelve Grand Cru villages and eighteen Premier Cru villages. Vineyard management is certified under sustainable viticulture, reflecting a strong commitment to environmental preservation.
A new limited edition combining innovation and creativity
This cooler, a colorful bottle holder designed mainly from recycled materials using 3D knitting, comes with a bottle of Brut Carte Jaune and keeps the champagne chilled for 90 minutes. Produced in limited edition, it is part of an innovative collection imagined with British-Nigerian designer Yinka Ilori, who reinterprets the graphic universe of Veuve Clicquot.
Yinka Ilori is a British-Nigerian artist, designer, and entrepreneur based in London. His visual universe, marked by bold colors and shapes, draws on his dual heritage to reinvent the narratives of contemporary design. Inspired by Nigerian parables and oral tradition, he explores a variety of themes that resonate with an international audience, with the central idea that art and design should remain accessible to all.
Grape varieties
Brut Carte Jaune from Veuve Clicquot is made from a blend of 50 to 55% pinot noir for structure and intensity, 30% chardonnay for elegance and finesse, and 15 to 20% meunier to bring roundness. To ensure consistency of style year after year, the House relies on an impressive collection of around four hundred reserve wines. This cuvée includes up to 45% of these reserve wines, some of which have aged for nearly thirty years, bringing unique depth and complexity to the final blend.
