Description
A structured and balanced champagne
The estate
Located in Dizy in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne, the Champagne Jacquesson House, founded in 1798, was taken over by the Chiquet family in 1974. Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, two passionate brothers, craft exceptional cuvées through their parcel-based approach and unique philosophy of vinification and aging, expressing the distinctive character and richness of these outstanding 28 hectares of chalk terroirs.
With its numbered cuvées renowned for their finesse, airy purity, and outstanding aging potential, Jacquesson ranks among the elite of the great names in Champagne.
The wine
Cuvée 747 is produced from Champagne vineyards in Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, Champillon (55%), Avize, and Oiry (45%). The base year is 2019.
The vintage
The winter was mild and not very wet, while spring was disrupted by three significant frost episodes, mainly affecting the chardonnays. This challenge naturally led to a predominance of pinot in the final blend. The hot, dry summer was punctuated by intense heatwaves, causing sunburn on some berries. The harvest, carried out from September 12 to 22, yielded grapes of remarkable quality, although yields remained very low.
Vinification and aging
Vinification and aging in large oak casks on lees, without filtration or fining. The dosage is 1.5 g/L.
Blend
Jacquesson's Cuvée 747 is the result of a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir.
