Description
Characteristics and Tasting Advice for the Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 2014 by EPC
Tasting
Appearance
The color reveals a luminous golden hue, enhanced by delicate, persistent bubbles.
Nose
The nose displays remarkable subtlety, with delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus. With aeration, the bouquet opens onto lightly smoky notes, honey and candied fruit, reflecting extended bottle aging.
Palate
On the palate, this champagne stands out for its remarkable freshness and fine minerality. The palate is precise and vibrant, supported by a delicate mousse and a long, saline finish characteristic of the Vertus terroir. The liveliness and mineral structure clearly express the chalky composition of the soils.
Food and Wine Pairings
This Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 2014 pairs exceptionally well with refined seafood such as oysters, scallops and shellfish. It also matches beautifully with delicate, finely prepared fish, ceviches and fish tartares. With cheese, it is an ideal choice alongside hard cheeses, particularly Comté aged for 24 months. Perfect for elegant aperitifs and major festive occasions.
Serving and cellaring
The Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 2014 is best enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 10°C.

The estate
Officially founded in June 2019, EPC is a Champagne House led by the founding trio Édouard Roy, Jérôme Queige and Camille Jullien Gilardi. Based in the village of Vindey in the Sézannais, the brand has experienced exponential growth, rising from 30,000 bottles in 2019 to nearly 700,000 bottles in 2025, distributed across fifty countries. EPC stands out for its innovative collaborative model with 90 to 100 partner winegrowers and its commitment to full traceability. In 2022, Stéphane Baschiera, former president of Moët & Chandon, joined the board of directors, bringing extraordinary institutional legitimacy to this young house. In 2025, the acquisition of Charles Mignon enabled EPC to surpass the one-million-bottle mark.
The vineyard
The Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 2014 comes from the Vertus terroir, a Premier Cru village located in Champagne, south of Épernay. The grapes come from the Monts Ferrés plot, characterized by exceptional chalky soils rich in Upper Cretaceous fossils. The east-facing slopes preserve freshness remarkably well throughout the growing season and encourage even ripening of the grapes. These soil and climatic conditions give the chardonnay grown in Vertus distinctive freshness and remarkable minerality.
The vintage
The 2014 vintage benefited from specific climatic conditions. August proved relatively cool, while September was marked by remarkable brightness and dryness. These conditions produced chardonnays of outstanding tension and aromatic purity.
Vinification and aging
The Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 2014 was crafted in close collaboration between EPC and winegrowers established in Vertus. Vinification took place in stainless-steel tanks, with full malolactic fermentation. This technical approach preserves freshness while allowing complex flavors to shine through. Cellar master Richard Dailly oversaw the blending and winemaking, working in concert with partner winegrowers.
