2014 Clos des Lunes Lune d'Argent has a pale golden robe with green highlights hinting at a wine of freshness and energy. On the nose there is the recognizable and subtle blending of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. The lovely mineral complexity emerges underlined by the delicate note of vanilla from the oak barrel aging. The elegant and refined palate delivers a strong aromatic blend. Pure, mineral and fresh Clos des Lunes 2014 Lune d'Argent is well balanced and offers a lovely length.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Lune d'Argent from Clos des Lunes, from the lieu-dit of Caplane near the town of Sauternes, has a light grassy bouquet with Granny Smith apples and fresh pear. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with a fine line of acidity, just a hint of peach surfacing towards the poised and surprisingly saline, marine-influenced finish. Perhaps the best of the three Clos des Lunes releases in 2014.
