Description
The balance and elegance of a Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
The estate
Prestigious reference of the Saint-Émilion appellation, the Clos des Jacobins takes its name from the Benedictine preaching monks who welcomed pilgrims on the paths of St-Jacques de Compostelle. Since 2004, the Clos des Jacobins has been owned by Thibaut and Magali Decoster.
The vineyard
Since the 17th century, the 8.3-hectare vineyard of this Grand Cru Classé has remained a single plot at the heart of the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion. Located at the foot of the slope with excellent southern exposure, the vines, averaging 30 years old, are planted on a very large limestone terroir. The vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture practices.
Blend
Merlot (80 %), Cabernet Franc (18 %) and Cabernet Sauvignon (2 %)
