Description
The estate
Nestled in a vast forest not far from Léognan in the Bordeaux region, Château Olivier boasts a very rich legacy, reflected in its medieval architecture. The estate has been owned by the Bethmann family since 1886, who have invested significantly in the property.
The vineyard
This Graves Classified Growth watches over a 52-hectare vineyard dedicated to its Château Olivier red wine.
The vintage
The winter was not very rainy and quite mild, leading to an early budding. A wet and cool spring followed, slowing down the bud burst. Flowering took place between May 24 and May 30. The small grapes were concentrated in sugar.
The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (55%), merlot (41%), petit verdot (4%).
The tasting
Reflecting the typical character of its appellation, the Château Olivier red 2019 is a rich and structured wine.
