Vinum

Noticeable stylistic shift: despite the vintage, it shows not only richness but also freshness and minerality, and the mocha notes of earlier years have given way to white chocolate. Superb, but best enjoyed now.

Wine Spectator

This is very sweet and rich on the nose, with toffee, honey and spices. Full-bodied, with thick honey, spice, dried apricot and syrup flavors. Lasts for minutes on the palate. Big botrytis bomb. Love it. Best after 2010. 8,000 cases made.

James Suckling

I might have a slight preference for this over the 2001, but I can’t make up my mind yet. It seems to have more richness and sweetness, with loads of apple tart, caramel and spice character. The noble rot certainly did its good here. Long, long finish. Beautiful sweet wine. Drink or hold.

Jancis Robinson

Sticky, super-rich, almost like fermented candy floss. Where’s the acidity? Drink now! (JR)

Brimming with pineapple, apricot, vanilla, white peach and candied orange, all coated in honey, the wine is sweet, round, lush and offering a lot of charm today.

Intense yellow, pale golden highlights. Ripe, compote-like bouquet, clear Sauternes liqueur notes, cooked apricots. On the palate, almost too rich on the one hand, yet a suitable acidity provides balance; caramelized orange peels on the long finish, opulent and rich.

04: Intense yellow; pale golden highlights. Ripe, compote-like bouquet; clear Sauternes and liqueur notes, and cooked apricots. On the palate, almost too thick on one hand, yet fortunately a fitting acidity provides balance; caramelized orange peels on the long finish; dense and rich. (19/20). 13: a real big Bertha. Sweetness in abundance. For the moment perhaps a bit cloying. But for this long-distance runner, it’s still far too early.

Le Figaro Vin

The nose is enchanting, very expressive with a very broad texture and a touch of noble bitterness. The length is medium but the charm is immense. Superb liqueur.

Yves Beck

This bouquet is very inviting and seductive, thanks to its complexity and soothing character. Notes of roasted almonds, bitter oranges, and acacia flowers. A touch of candied citrus zest. On the palate, the wine is sweet, creamy, and racy. Notes of caramel and almonds on the finish. What a delight! This Guiraud 2003 still has plenty of time ahead of it 😉

Jean-Marc Quarin

Jean-Marc Quarin

Dark yellow with grey highlights. Intense, complex nose. Creamy touch. Vanilla and spice undertone. Precise on the attack, airy through the mid-palate, highly aromatic, complex and noble; the wine finishes deep, with particularly refined sweetness. A delight. Drink now and before 2050.

Description

Harvest last 8 days on a botrytis bomb. The result is an exuberant wine aroma, creaminess, where elegance is the watchword: a Baroque wine. Silky, gourming, savory, with a light sweetness. It smells like melted butter, the vanilla cream vanilla with exotic falvours. A somptuous wine.
