A balanced and fresh red wine from Pauillac

The Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is located near Pauillac and extends over more than 55 hectares of vines. The gravelly soil makes it possible to obtain very high quality wines. The blend of this particular vintage contains 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot, allowing for a beautifully balanced structure from a vineyard with great potential.

At tasting, one can observe a red colour, quite dark and of great intensity. The nose gives off aromas of ripe black fruits, like blackcurrant, as well as some fresh and spicy fragrances. On the palate, the wine offers a precise and dense attack, then revealing magnificent tannins, soft and persistent. This Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2012 is magnificent, with a great balance of purity and elegance in a clear expression of the richesse of the Pauillac terroir.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Always a favorite among consumers, Xavier Borie's is a fifth-growth Pauillac that consistently performs at a much higher level. The 2012 Grand-Puy-Lacoste has the classic, tell-tale crème de cassis as well as some bluer fruits and floral notes. Medium-bodied, its ripe tannin, beautiful fruit and low acidity give it an up-front appeal. There's no harm in drinking it now or cellaring it for another 12-15+ years.
