Decanter

Ripe black fruit with liquorice, tobacco and cedar aromas. Sleek and polished, this has both a brightness and subtle power to it. Oak is on show as expected, giving a slightly toasted edge to the pure berry fruit but the tannins are beautifully positioned and integrated. High acidity carries to the long finish. A little firm and tight still, but really well made with poise and finesse. Polished! Yield of 33hl/ha. Ageing 20% stainless steel, 80% in barrels.

Licorice, cocoa, black cherries, and espresso create the aromatic profile. The palate is even better, with lush, creamy, silky dark fruits, polished, plush tannins, and a chocolatey, black cherry, espresso bean-packed finish. Drink from 2028-2045. 92-94 Pts

Estate signature, showing inky depths and character: damson, blueberry, espresso. A good-quality wine with character and impact. Real ageing potential. Harvest September 3 to 19. 80% in oak, of which 1/3 is new. 33 hl/ha yield. Owner: Silvio Denz.

The bouquet of Faugères unfolds gradually, first revealing floral nuances before giving way to chalky notes, then aromas of black berries and, finally, a touch of oak ageing. Subtly suave on the attack, the wine develops in a linear fashion, showcasing powerful yet perfectly integrated tannins that are, moreover, in harmony with the energising character of the acidity. This Faugères combines charm, vigour and elegance. It is savoury and persistent, will benefit from time in the cellar, and can also be enjoyed in its youth.

Vinum

On the nose, blackcurrant fruit, floral notes, ripe cherries and lemon balm; an approachable palate with a slightly creamy texture, tightening through the mid-palate into a more vertical profile, with a delicate core of fruit; fine tannins, pronounced acidity, very good harmony and a fresh, long finish marked by sour cherry. A delightfully nuanced Faugères that will charm early yet has the capacity to age.
