Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Tinus Syrah 2024 from Les Tourettes
Tasting
Colour
The wine reveals a beautiful ruby hue.
Nose
The bouquet expresses great freshness through delicate floral notes and ripe red fruit aromas, such as cherry, subtly enhanced by peppery spice.
Palate
The palate captivates with its silky texture and exceptionally fine tannins. The whole is carried by a vibrant acidity that provides a remarkably fresh core, ensuring a perfect balance.
Serving and cellaring
Conceived as a true wine of pleasure, this 2024 vintage is best enjoyed in its youth, allowing you to fully appreciate its easy-drinking profile and vibrant fruit for everyday enjoyment.
Food and wine pairings
Highly versatile, this red wine pairs ideally with grilled or roasted red meats, such as lamb prepared shawarma-style. It is also a wonderful companion to Mediterranean cuisine scented with thyme and rosemary, as well as lighter dishes such as roast poultry, lightly smoked fish or spicy fare.
The Singular Expression of a High-Altitude Syrah from Les Tourettes
The estate
Les Tourettes was acquired in 1997 by the Belgian-born couple Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen. Building on their renown in Burgundy, they applied their exacting philosophy. Today, supported by their daughter Marie and winemaker Julien Desplans, they look after some fifteen hectares. The estate stands out for its artisanal, Burgundian methods, creating wines of exceptional freshness.
The vineyard
Rising to an altitude of 420 metres, the vineyard benefits from a cool microclimate that encourages slow ripening of the berries. The vines, derived from massal selections, thrive on limestone-rich soils that lend a beautiful mineral tension. The estate's atypical grape variety choice and the winemaker's desire for freedom explain why this cuvée is classified as Vin de France. Vineyard work and harvesting are carried out exclusively by hand, through successive sorting, with no mechanical intervention whatsoever.
Vinification and ageing
Crafted with true Burgundian precision, this wine is aged in concrete tanks. This technical choice preserves the brightness of the fruity aromas and the wine's natural freshness, without seeking the complexity imparted by oak.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from the Syrah grape variety.
