Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for Tinus "Pure Nature" 2022 from Château des Tourettes
Tasting
Appearance
The absence of filtration gives this wine a slight natural opacity, reflecting an authentic, low-intervention approach.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals great complexity, combining notes of stone and tropical fruits such as peach and apricot, enhanced by hints of orange zest and delicate elderflower aromas.
Palate
With a generous, enveloping texture, the palate displays beautiful density. Flavors of pear, apricot, and garrigue are perfectly balanced by a pronounced minerality. The long, saline finish brings remarkable precision to the whole.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine pairs ideally with poultry such as chicken or turkey. Its mineral structure and density also allow it to accompany rich seafood dishes, light white meats, or vegetarian cuisine featuring aromatic herbs.
Serving and cellaring
Thanks to its excellent concentration, the Tinus "Pure Nature" 2022 cuvée has exceptional aging potential, allowing it to evolve beautifully over time.
The singular expression of a great French wine by Château des Tourettes
The estate
Acquired and founded in 1997 by Jean-Marie Guffens and his wife Maine, the Château des Tourettes is located in the Luberon, near the town of Apt, in the south of France. The estate quickly distinguished itself through its unconventional philosophy, favoring the pure expression of terroir over the prestige of appellations. Today, the property is managed by Marie, the founders' daughter, alongside winemaker Julien. Together, they continue this pursuit of excellence and authenticity, producing characterful cuvées that challenge the region’s traditional codes.
The vineyard
Rising to 420 meters in altitude, the vineyard benefits from a cooler microclimate than the rest of the region. The vines thrive on limestone-rich soils, worked according to a no-cultivation principle with shallow annual plowing and permanent grass cover. This approach drastically limits yields to obtain highly concentrated berries. In order to retain complete freedom over grape varieties and production methods, all the estate’s wines are classified as Vin de France.
Winemaking and aging
The harvest is carried out manually with several successive passes to pick the grapes at perfect ripeness. Pressing is performed gently using a hydraulic press, and only the first juices are retained. Fermentation of the Tinus "Pure Nature" 2022 cuvée starts spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts. Aging then takes place in concrete tanks, an inert material chosen to preserve the purity of the fruit. The wine is finally bottled without any fining or filtration.
Grape varieties
The blend is composed of viognier, roussanne, marsanne, and chardonnay.
