A Fresh, Fruity Red from France, Crafted by Château des Tourettes
The estate
Taken over in 1997 by Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen, Château des Tourettes is located in the Luberon, close to Apt. Jean-Marie Guffens, also known for his work with Chardonnay in Burgundy, now runs this estate of around fifteen hectares with his wife Maine. The estate stands out for its freedom in choosing grape varieties, which has led it to market its entire production under the Vin de France designation rather than the Luberon appellation.
The vineyard
The vines of Château des Tourettes are planted on the Plateau de l'Aigle, at an altitude of between 400 and 420 metres, on limestone soils. This high-altitude setting encourages slow ripening of the grapes and a lovely freshness, despite the southern climate. The grapes are harvested by hand, with sorting carried out in the vineyard. Born of this terroir, this red is marketed under the Vin de France designation, a choice that allows the estate to free itself from the varietal restrictions of the local appellation.
Winemaking and ageing
Tinus Rouge d'une Nuit 2025 is vinified according to the philosophy specific to this cuvée, designed to preserve purity of fruit and freshness. The reds in this collection are aged in tank, without any time in oak, which preserves the direct expression of the fruit and a fine tannic structure, with no added woody notes.
Grape varieties
This cuvée is made from a blend of Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, three grape varieties that respectively bring fruity roundness, tannic structure and spicy depth to the whole.
