Bordeaux - Sauternes - White - 13.5° Château de Rayne Vigneau Château de Rayne Vigneau 2002 1085/02
  • Parker : 90
  • J. Robinson : 17,5

A vivid and delicate white wine from Sauternes

Produced in the Sauternes appellation over an area of 84 hectares, the Chateau de Rayne Vigneau is a First Classified Growth of 1855 white wine with a blend of 80% Semillion and 20% Sauvignon Blanc.

The Chateau de Rayne Vigneau 2002 presents a beautiful straw yellow colour. The nose exudes beautiful floral aromas with great purity, freshness and lightness that balances with jellied quince notes. On the palate, it is delicate and well-balanced. A wine of rare elegance.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2002 Rayne-Vigneau has an attractive bouquet with subtle clear honey scents and a touch of peppermint. It shows great clarity for a Sauternes '02. The palate is well-balanced on the entry with nicely judged acidity. It is harmonious but not the most complex Sauternes of the vintage, yet it fans out toward the finish with delicate notes of creme caramel and a dash of spice. Drink now-2020+ Tasted April 2013.
