Château de Fieuzal 2015

Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan - Red - 14° Château de Fieuzal Château de Fieuzal 2015 1073/15
  • Parker : 92-94
  • J. Robinson : 16

A Pessac-Léognan red wine with a smooth structure

Château de Fieuzal is a Grand Cru Classé de Graves produced in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Around 30 years old, the vineyard of 68 hectares is planted on rolling outcrops made of fine soils and covered with thousand-year-old gravel. The blend of the 2015 vintage is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.

With its intense blood red colour and purple reflections, the Château de Fieuzal 2015 reveals complex aromas of red fruits and black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry). There are then expressive fragrances of spices and graphite. In the mouth, the attack is dense and offers tannins that combine finesse and elegance. This wine, which reveals a silky structure, presents a wonderful tension during a long finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 de Fieuzal has a very seductive bouquet, almost Saint Emilion in style (perhaps the hand of consultant Hubert de Boüard at play?). I mean that in a positive sense: it is extremely pure and sensual, an aromatic femme fatale. The palate is ripe and generous on the entry, but simultaneously poised and minerally, almost edgy towards the sustained and focused finish. There is wonderful freshness and vitality here, yet another really quite stupendous Pessac-Léognan that is going to be a joy to drink over the next 20-25 years.;2021 - 2045
